Superhero 3rd Birthday

Uncategorized

Sons 3rd birthday party was a success!!!! Cant believe how awesome in turned out! All decor was handmade. I was on a tight budget this year so I made sure to make it extra awesome with the limited resources.

Sebas 3rd bday decor

All printables were found online at Pinterest.com for free. Just search, “free superhero printables.”

Background poster bought at Walmart for $5.

Piñata was bought at a local party warehouse. I added a some work to it.

Toys were provided from my sons toy collection

Superhero costumes from Party City (sons aunt and uncle dressed up)

I always buy bulk candy when it goes on sale. Most of the candy was bought after this past Easter for $.25 each bag at Aldi.  AWESOME!!!!

All buildings and other decor was drawn, cut, and spray painted as well as gift wrapped by me.

All the decor came out to about $120!!!

Feel free to get inspired! =)

Budget friendly updates! New place new/old stuff

DIY

As a woman I know how hard it is to move into a new place and not be able to go crazy buying new decor and furniture for your new home. I just leased in a new apartment and was itching for new things but lets be real, times are tough and now a days its all about DIY! So, I did some updates and moved around some furniture.

First, I painted most of the walls and with the left over paint I made a fun gray striped hallway. My dining table also received a fun update with chalkboard paint.

I got these at Ross about 2-3 years ago and I was over the teal Dolphins color so I used the left over chalk paint for the candle holders, which came out great! I love the matte look!

These dresser was originally in my master bedroom but in the new place unfortunately it did not go up the stairs so I decided to use it as storage since we barely have any. Originally dark brown and now a beautiful mustard yellow. I looked up on Pinterest how to paint furniture. Must say it is not an easy tasks. There is some steps and they all must be done. Took me 2 whole days to complete. Still need to get new knobs for it.

Spray painted some old wine bottles I saved for projects and this was perfect. I loved them! Can use them for any holiday!IMG_1651IMG_1626

Very happy with my outcome! Still adding pieces and more DIY projects to come. Just because you’re renting a place does not mean you need to hold back on making it your own. For as long as its your home it should represent you.

Food in Atlanta

Food

ATLfoodWent to Atlanta this summer and loved it! Such a green beautiful place. I can not believe I had not gone any sooner. They have amazing spots to eat at by the way. Here are 2 places I went too while I was there for the weekend…

Flip Burger Boutique https://flipburgerboutique.com

I had this amazing burger called Southern burger, it was the special for the night. It had collard greens and fried onions, so delish! I can still taste it. After that massive burger I went for a milk shake. I went on the trip with my sisters so we all picked something different to be able to share.

We had milkshakes for dessert and oh my geesh they were awesome! Pictured are the captain crunch milkshake. Yes, Captain Crunch and the incredible smores milkshake. Both great and very different.

Sunday for Brunch we encountered http://www.highlandbakery.com.

The cutest town and bakery I’d ever seen! All the items on the menu sounded very tempting. This was my sisters breakfast. Unfortunately, I was too much of a fat butt to even bother taking a picture of my delicious and heavenly pumpkin pancakes.

If you’re around the area, go go go to these two spots!

The perks of living in Miami, these sweet and delicious Cuban pastry! One of the most important reasons I love my city is because we are such divorced city. We have people from all over the world that offer so much cultural experiences for everyone. The food in Miami is so amazing and exquisite.

This pastry is such a simple, heavenly, warm, sweet, fluffy but flaky Miami traditional food everyone should try!

and some bought from StockBerry Studio

Safari Themed Shower

The letters for all my handmade decor I bought from Michael’s and the fringe paper and vases as well as tissue paper from the Dollar Tree. The baby blocks are actually gift boxes covered in fabric which I found at Wal-Mart. It was not easy finding a base for these blocks, I looked online and in many stores and decided to go with the gift boxes and they worked wonderfully.

All candy, straws, and bowls were ordered from Orientaltrading.com

I love this elephant and how cute this came out. I painted the letters and crate and hot glued this cute chubby elephant I found at Big Lots for $3. Under all the fringe is a random bow I had at home to hold everything together.

The outside of the house went perfectly with the theme. Baby Brandon was celebrated wonderfully in the jungles of Miami.
